I have attended Bainbridge High School for my whole 4 years of high school. I have also lived on Bainbridge Island my whole life, so I have experienced both the good and the bad throughout my years of experience. What I love about BHS is the close-knit community, and how giving and kind parents and elders are willing to be toward students by helping financially. The school itself is full of resources as well. From free therapists to college essay workshops and more. There are many clubs such as a Feminist Forum, Board Game Club, and even a Garden Club! Teachers are also involved in these clubs which allows students to have a relationship with their (or other) teachers. Although with pros, there are always cons. With a smaller community, there isn't much of a pool of friends to pick from/have. I have had a hard time finding the people that I share values with as well as seeking a lifelong friend. The change I would make to BHS is the stereotype that everyone has to have a lot of money.

I came into Bainbridge Island High School during covid, so my freshman year was predominately online. Since then the school dynamic has changed a lot. There is much more security and constant surveillance of students which has its pros and cons. Other than that the academics are very strong and prepare you for college well. There are some really great teachers too that are willing to help with all sides of academics and truly want you to be successful.

As a Trans person this school makes me want to run away and never come back. The amount of money and influence has left the island a drug fueled teen wonderland.
However the education you wil receive on the Island is the best you can possibly get. I know more about most things then other people my age. Along with the huge amount of community service you can do makes my heart feel better.
The educators are hit or miss on Bainbridge. Some are the smartest people I've met but can not teach for the life of them. And the ability to go follow your interests is huge because Bainbridge works with multiple trade schools and colleges to keep students interested and going to school.
