Can smoked meat get even better?? One of my favorites to do with leftover meat from smoking is to make them into soups! When I made my smoked pork shoulder roast we had a lot of meat left and of course the bones as well. I opted to make up chili with the leftovers and it turned out amazing.

I had hoped to do this in the crockpot but the bones were too big so I opted to do this on the stove and made a huge batch, plus the leftovers froze amazing!! You can remove the meat from the bone if you want but I love the pork bone adds some flavor as well!

Now if you aren’t using a heavily seasoned smoked pork I will recommend you add some more seasoning, I knew we had a ton of seasoning that would come off when it was in the pot boiling so I didn’t season it too much.

Smoked Pork Chili Recipe Ingredients:

How To Make Smoked Pork Chili:

Now I made this on the stovetop the fact the bone and the meat were too large to fit into our crockpot. Now I have always had a big stock pot to make gumbo, other soups, broth, etc. If you don’t have one I highly recommend getting one. The stockpot I used to make this was a 16 Quart Stockpot.

Fill your pot about halfway full of water and add in broth, beef bouillon.

Bring the pot to a rolling boil.

Cut your red onion and any meat you want to.

Slowly add in your meat and meat bones if applicable.

Add in the rest of your ingredients as well, you may need to add more water and broth if it wasn’t enough to cover everything

Turn the heat down and allow the chili to boil for a couple of hours with randomly stirring it as well.

Serve and enjoy!! Next time I plan to get bread bowls for this.
